Open Call Groups

WHAT IS CODE DANS+ FOR GROUPS? 

This open call is intended for dance schools, dance groups, dance companies, groups of amateur dancers and organisations that work with amateur dancers.  

The group of dancers takes centre stage: their growth, enjoyment and development are the driving force behind the project. You want to create something artistic together and challenge yourselves. It is not just about performing, but also about experiencing and growing as a group. The choreographer or dance teacher guiding the group also wants to learn and develop further.  

CODE DANS+ offers you the chance to realise a project that goes beyond the weekly class or the annual performance. The performance is deliberately staged outside the traditional theatre, bringing dance closer to a new audience.  

Examples:  

• A group of amateur dancers collaborates with a local musician. They create a choreography based on their cultural background. The work is presented at a festival in their local area. 
• Dance school X creates a short film with its students. The dance sequences are filmed at various locations around the city. The result is screened at a neighbourhood party in the area where the school is based. 
• A company of adult amateur dancers creates a piece on the theme of grief and loss. They deliberately choose an intimate venue outside the theatre, such as a chapel or an enclosed garden.
